Welcome

Rhode Island TU represents Trout Unlimited in Rhode Island. Chartered in the mid 1970’s as Narragansett Chapter 225 of Trout Unlimited, Rhode Island TU was formed by the confluence of the Narragansett and Northern RI Trout Unlimited Chapters in 2017. We continue to grow in several ways beyond just membership which currently stands at more than 400 members. Our foundation is built on a strong heritage of dedicated members, the enhancement of watershed ecosystems, and a shared passion for fishing. This is our DNA and it is what guides us today to the next generation of passionate conservationists, anglers, and teachers.  CONSERVATION. COMMUNITY. FISHING.

Our activities throughout the year include:

  • River Restoration Projects

  • Trees for Trout

  • Stream Water Monitoring

  • Adopt-A-Highway Cleanups and Lunch

  • Kids Fishing Day

  • Veterans Fishing Outings

  • Member Fishing Outings

  • Casting Clinics

  • Introduction to Fly Fishing

  • Streamside Cookouts

  • Expert Speakers

  • Annual Banquet

The public is invited to attend our monthly gatherings on the last Wednesday of each month, including our streamside cookouts from May through August at the Arcadia Check Station where Rte. 165 in Exeter crosses over the Wood River. Additional information about our activities is available on the Events page.
